Terminology and Interface Concepts
A reference guide to the terms and concepts used throughout the Tunebansia platform and this website. Useful background reading before your first session with the interface.
Key terms used in the platform
Understanding how Tunebansia uses these terms helps you navigate the interface and interpret what you see in the review environment.
Classification
The process of assigning an information record to one or more predefined categories based on its content, type, and context. Classification is applied automatically by the platform's AI-enabled layer. Users do not need to classify records themselves, though they can flag items where the classification appears incorrect.
Category
A named group within the classification taxonomy. Categories are defined by the Tunebansia team during access setup, in consultation with the user. Each category has a name, a description, and one or more rules that determine which records belong to it. A record can belong to more than one category if the content warrants it.
Taxonomy
The complete set of categories and their relationships within the platform. A taxonomy has a top-level structure of main categories and may include sub-types nested beneath them. The taxonomy is configured at setup and can be adjusted over time as information management needs evolve.
Record
A single unit of information within the platform. A record has a type, a classification label, a review status, and a detail view that displays its full content and metadata. Records are the primary objects users interact with in the review interface.
Review status
An indicator attached to each record that shows where it sits in the review workflow. Statuses include pending (awaiting review), in review (currently being examined), reviewed (completed), and archived (moved out of the active view). Users can update the review status of records as they work through them.
Confidence indicator
A label shown on records where the AI-assisted classification layer was not certain about the category assignment. A low-confidence indicator suggests that a human reviewer should examine the record before treating its category label as reliable. High-confidence assignments are applied without a visible indicator.
Detail panel
The expanded view of a single record, showing its full content alongside classification metadata such as category assignment, source information, classification date, and any annotations. The detail panel is read-oriented and is separate from the list view used to navigate records.
Flag
A user-initiated marker that identifies a record for follow-up. Flags are used to mark records with apparent classification errors, records that need additional review, or records that require action outside the platform. Flagged records can be filtered and reviewed as a group.
How the review interface is structured
The record list
The record list is the primary view in the review interface. It displays all records accessible to the current user, sorted by classification date by default. Users can filter the list by category, review status, confidence level, or date range. Sorting and filtering controls are available above the list. The list updates as filters are applied without requiring a page reload.
The filter panel
The filter panel sits alongside the record list and provides controls for narrowing the view. Category filters show the full taxonomy as a tree, allowing users to drill down to specific sub-types. Status filters let users separate pending records from reviewed ones. The filter panel can be collapsed to give more space to the record list when not in use.
Navigation between records
Within the detail panel, navigation arrows allow users to move to the next or previous record in the current filtered list without returning to the list view. This makes it efficient to review a sequence of records in a specific category without repeated navigation steps.
The archive view
Archived records are moved out of the main record list but remain accessible through a separate archive view. The archive uses the same filtering and navigation controls as the main list. Archiving a record does not delete it; it signals that the review workflow for that record is complete.
What to expect when you start
This section describes the typical orientation experience for new users. Individual setup may vary depending on the complexity of the classification taxonomy configured for your use case.
Taxonomy walkthrough
After access is granted, the support team provides a brief walkthrough of the classification taxonomy configured for your use. This covers the main categories, how sub-types are structured, and any category rules that are particularly relevant to the information you will be working with.
Interface orientation
The team also walks through the main sections of the review interface: the record list, the filter panel, the detail view, and the archive. This orientation is designed to take less than thirty minutes and covers the controls most users need from the start.
Ongoing support
After the initial orientation, users can contact the support team with questions about the interface or the classification taxonomy. The team is reachable via the contact form on the Connect page or directly at [email protected].
